Radiant In-Floor Heating

Cozy HeatingMonarch are the specialists in radiant in-floor heating:

What does 'hydronic' mean?

Hydronic means the transfer of heat by water.  So in a hydronic heating system, the heat is generated at a central boiler, and transported around your home by water.  The heat is then released into your room through in-floor pipes.

What is radiant heating?

There are two types main ways of heating homes - via radiant heat, and via convective heat.  Convective heating works by warming the air in the room.  Radiant heat is where you can feel the heat from original source, it heats the people and furniture in the room rather than the air.  Radiant heating would normally feel quite hot at the source and then much colder on the other side of the room - however, an in-floor hydronic system that covers the entire room eliminates this problem by giving an even heat.  So an in-floor heating system would be considered radiant heating.

In-Floor Heating

Image With radiant in-floor heating, water is heated at a central boiler, and gently pumped around piping under your floor.  The heat is an even heat, and feels pleasant underfoot.  It is the ultimate in heating comfort.  It is also allergy-free (there is no moving air or blowing dust), safe for children, pleasant (the air is not dried), reliable, quiet (no noisy blowers), and adjustable - you can set the heating levels exactly as you want them from a central control.  Read more why you should choose Monarch Plumbing for your radiant in-floor heating below.
